Welcome to Eric's Annual Oscars Pool - Vegas Style! We're doing things a little differently this year, but hopefully it will make the game a lot more interesting. This year everyone will start off with
500 (we're calling them Oscar Bucks) that you can wager on any nominees across all categories. Instead of getting a fixed amount of points for each correct answer the amount of Oscar Bucks you win will depend on how much you wagered and the
odds of that nominee winning in that category. Remember, the more likely a nominee is to win, the smaller the payout will be. Example: The Brutalist is favored to win Best Picture with current odds at 1.8 (55.56% chance) while Wicked is not very likely to win with current odds at 21 (4.76% chance). If you wager
10 on The Brutalist and it wins your total winnings will be
10 x 1.8 =
18. If you wager
10 on Wicked and it wins you'll earn
10 x 21 =
210.
Some Important Rule
- Oscar Bucks are not redeemable for cash.
- The person with the most Oscar Bucks at the end of the night wins the pool.
- Unused Oscar Bucks don't count toward your final total so you should use all 500.
- You may not exceed 500 in total wagers.
- You can make multiple wagers within a single category (i.e. 30 on The Brutalist, 10 on Dune Part 2 and 5 on Wicked for Best Picture).
- You must wager at least 10 in each category (this can be divided amongst multiple nominees).
- DraftKings Sportsbook will be the only source we use for game odds.
- Odds will be updated periodically and one final time at 5PM CST, March 2, 2025.
- All wagers must be submitted by 5PM CST, March 1, 2025.
